What We Do

The DYSC Lab is located at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is directed by Dr. Leanna Closson. Our research explores the development of social competence in youth, with a focus on peer relationships. Our work seeks to understand how
socially (in)competent behaviours, including aggression, prosocial behaviour, and social withdrawal, predict adaptation in the peer group (e.g., popularity),problematic peer experiences (e.g., victimization), and psychosocial adjustment (e.g., mental health).
